The Vendor is required to provide print production operation vendors to provide print and distribution services of the university alumni magazine, university magazine.
- Print Production Criteria
• Produce high-resolution color proofs along with a folding dummy which shows the exact page layout, indicated color, and specified layout on the same or similar paper as specified
• Complete prepress work such as creating varnish files, image manipulation, retouching, color correcting with ink specifications that may be for up to six (6) colors in one pass through a press
• Ability to create bleeds, large solids, knockouts, crossovers, duo- or tri-tone, special coatings, butts, specialty folding, and binding
• Must be run on a heat-set web press
- Distribution Criteria
• Addressing and mail processing with mailing data provided via electronic transfer and one excel document with up to 200 addresses provided by the magazine editor.
• A USPS certified mailer’s software (such as act) product must be used to prepare records, provided on disk, for non-profit, automation rates as well as merge/purge and zip + 4 sortation.
• A list must be provided to university communications identifying any bad address records.
• Mailing information must be kept confidential in accordance with the family educational rights and privacy act (FERPA).
• Vendor must deliver final product to a national distribution center (NDC) or sectional center facility (SCF).
• Prior to mailing, vendor must complete and provide the university with a signature-ready postal authorization form, communicating the total quantity and cost of postage for each mailing.
