The Vendor is required to provide marketing, advertising, internet services and installation services related to onboard bus marketing and advertising:
• Maximize and provide a reliable stream of revenues to be shared between the county and the contractor.
• Provide an advertising opportunity that reflects good taste, truthfulness, acceptable business practices, and decency.
• Provide a viable, cost-effective advertising opportunity for local business.
• Provide a cost-effective advertising opportunity for county services and other authorized county services.
• Assure that appropriate measures are taken to minimize risk of accident and injury from onboard exterior or interior ads.
- Marketing strategy and approach
• Provide a detailed marketing plan for maximizing revenues under this project.
• This plan should clearly address the application of the proposer’s experience, field operation (existing and proposed), and other resources toward the maximization of revenue.
• Plans to aggressively and creatively increase revenues to county and promote the increased use of transit advertising must be included in the marketing plan.
• It is recognized that the elements of this marketing and sales plan are by nature amenable to creative presentation and description.
• County seeks onboard advertising that consists of exterior ads mounted on buses as appliqués and interior ads placed in 11” card racks extending the full length of passenger seating area and installed above side windows.
• With its marketing plan, the contractor shall provide a proposed policy governing the review and accepting or rejecting advertising considered controversial, obscene or distasteful by community standards.
- Exterior advertising material
• In the application and replacement of advertising material, the material must be cut around doors, windows, and buttons, and other exterior protruding components, excluding the rub rail.
• The advertising material must be cut and applied tightly around the rub rail to avoid inadvertent damage due to the high pressure bus washing system.
• Advertising material may not be placed on a bus’s exterior as follows:
o Over air and exhaust vents along the sides of the bus.
o Air and exhaust vents at the front and rear of the bus may be covered if the material is cut so air can pass freely through the vents;
o Over compartment access doors unless the material is slit to allow opening of such doors;
o Over side marker lights and directional turn signals;
o Over information or directional graphics and any other portion of a bus in a manner that interferes, in the county’s sole determination, with the safe operation of the bus.
