Climate Information Communication Strategy and Action Plan Services

The Vendor is required to provide to the impacts of climate change, and over time, the county has been consistently affected by extreme weather events such as tropical storms, hurricanes, intense rainfall events and droughts due to the warming conditions which have led to increases in temperature and changes in rainfall patterns.
- The objective of this Output is to ensure that the Meteorological Services can continuously and effectively provide climate information and products to users from the agriculture, fisheries, tourism, water, health, forestry and energy sectors to guide their decision making and to make informed actions to prevent and address climate change induced impacts.
- The contents of climate information knowledge products should be useful and effective for users for maximum utility of the information.
- Communication barriers affecting the effectiveness and timeliness of climate information and products, and the benefits to the intended users will be addressed.
- The Consultant is expected to complete the following tasks
• Conduct out an assessment to determine the barriers affecting the communication of climate information to stakeholders from agriculture, fisheries, tourism, water, health, forestry and energy sectors. Develop an Action Plan to articulate the various actions required to resolve the barriers to facilitate ease of communication.
• Conduct a gender sensitive and socially inclusive consultation workshop to develop a Climate Information Communication Strategy and Action Plan that will articulate the various communication channels and mediums to transmit and disseminate climate information to the various stakeholders.
• Develop a draft Climate Information Communication Strategy and Action Plan.
• Conduct a gender and socially inclusive workshop to validate the draft Climate Information Communication Strategy and Action Plan.
• Finalize the development of the Climate Information Communication Strategy and Action Plan.
