The Vendor is required to provide transit advertising services for include:
- Sponsorship and advertising parameters (06/26)
• All advertising shall be of professional quality, shall not contain any rotating, revolving, flashing, or noise-making device, or any other lighted or moving parts; and shall not interfere with traffic or conflict with any traffic control devices.
• All advertisements shall clearly, conspicuously, and unambiguously identify the person(s) or entity that has sponsored, paid for, or cause the advertisement to be placed on district property.
• Website address or phone numbers, without more, are insufficient attributions.
• Advertisements, or any material contained in them cannot imply or declare an endorsement by district of any service, product, or point of view without district written permission.
• District may require an advertisement to contain either a disclaimer or the phrase, “paid for by…,” each in clearly visible letters as determined by district but no smaller than 72-point font for exterior showings, and 24-point font for interior showings.
• District will not exclude advertising based upon content unless the advertisement in whole or part:
o Is demonstrably false, misleading, deceptive, libelous, defamatory, or infringes upon protected intellectual property or privacy rights;
o Explicitly depicts fetuses, or human or animal bodies, or parts thereof, in a state(s) of mutilation, dismemberment, and decomposition;
o Depicts explicit violence against a person or animal;
o Depicts explicit sexual conduct or excretory activity, whether actual or simulated;
o Depicts sexual or excretory organs (for the purpose of the policies, those organs included but are not limited to the areola or nipple of the female breast);
o Promotes the sale of or use of any schedule i controlled substance;
o Is foreseeable to result in harm to, disruption of, or interference with the safe operation of district transportation system; and
o Directs viewers to a telephone number, website or other electronic source that contains material that violates this policy.
- Advertising terms (06/26)
• Ad shelter: any shelter equipped with a rectangular advertising panel display on which advertising is displayed; ad size may not exceed 68” x 47”.
• Ad bench: a customer service convenience asset, typically placed where count traffic and boardings are not large enough to justify the expense of a bus shelter; ad size may not exceed 21” x 70”.
• Buses: regular service buses which are now or may be later owned and operated by district.
• Channel cards: interior advertising card in the channels on either side of vehicle; sizes range from 8-3/8” x 19.5 to 48“ in max type 2 and 3, to 10-3/4” x 24 to 48” in max type iv, v &vi, to 11” x 24 to 48” in buses.
• District safety standards require that channel cards be .20 thickness calendared rigid vinyl material that satisfies federal flammability standards
• The utilization of these card for paid advertising is limited to a to-be-determined number or percentage of vehicles and must be included in a bus takeover campaign.
• The cards are only used by district.
• Direct application decal: advertising applied directly to the vehicle or shelter.
• Downstream: shelter wall furthest from approaching transit vehicle.
• Fair market value: the value of the trade shall be assessed at the value of the space, if such space had been sold outright, rather than exchanged for trade.
• Full back: direct decal advertising that covers the entire back of buses with no windows.
• Full side: a max or streetcar train side.
• Headlight: framed advertising in front of buses that is approx. 21” x 44”.
• King: framed or direct application advertising on bus side that is approximately 30” x 144”.
• Kong: direct application on side of the bus, approx. 37” x 240”.
• Lift vehicles: 24’ minibuses utilized mainly for accessible transportation program.
• Max mini decals: decals with dimensions of 21” by 70”.
• Michelangelo: ceiling ad on buses and trains.
• Queens: curbside bus ads, approximately 30” x 88“.
• Mural: direct application ad on sides max trains, size varies.
