Social Emotional Support Services

The Vendor is required to provide social emotional support services for part-time, throughout the school year (1-2 days per week), the school counselor will:
• Contribute to a positive educational environment and to the success of students in three developmental domains: academic, personal/social emotional support, and career;
• Develop and implement programming that is comprehensive in scope, preventative in design, developmental in nature, and data driven;
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, partners and other staff members to promote positive school culture and student social emotional development;
• Participate in student support team meetings to provide guidance for collecting, interpreting and utilizing data to identify the social emotional and behavioral needs and interventions for individual students, classrooms and the schoolwide community;
• Provide 1:1 or group direct services and support to students presenting with mental health and behavioral challenges that impact academic and social emotional functioning;
• Connect families with community-based resources, supports and services;
• Screen and assess students for risk and coordinate the development of safety plans and additional service referrals as needed;
• Promote equitable access to educational opportunities for all students;
• Promote a rigorous academic curriculum for every student, provide strategies for closing equity gaps, support the development of skills to increase student success, and foster advocacy for all students;
• Adhere to the requirements of state and federal laws regarding students with disabilities, and to the professional ethics and standards of the association.
