Strategic Communications
– Develop and maintain an annual communications plan with measurable goals.
– Provide ongoing counsel to the Superintendent, Board, and District leadership.
– Maintain a District message architecture and brand standards.
Media Relations
– Draft and distribute news releases, statements, and media advisories.
– Maintain media relationships and a current media contact list; pitch proactive stories.
– Coordinate and prepare spokespeople for interviews.
Crisis and Emergency Communications
– Maintain a written crisis-communications protocol with severity tiers and an approval chain.
– Provide holding-statement and template libraries and on-call rapid response.
– Meet defined response windows (e.g., initial response within [30/60/90] minutes of notification).
Community, Multilingual, and Digital Engagement
– Produce culturally responsive, translated materials (Spanish first, then other prevalent languages, including support for Chinese Immersion families).
– Support social media strategy, content, and community management guidance.
– Support accessible website and family-facing content.
Measurement and Reporting
– Deliver a monthly metrics dashboard (reach, engagement, media tone/sentiment, family communication metrics).
– Conduct quarterly strategic reviews tied to enrollment and engagement goals.
