The Vendor is required to provide employee assistance program services.
- provide professional and referral services to help Department employees, and their families address and resolve a wide variety of personal and work-related problems.
- Services include:
• Clinical assessment and referral by state licensed clinicians (e.g., counselors, therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists) for a wide variety of problems including, but not limited to, family or marital stress, alcohol, and/or drug abuse, legal and/or financial difficulties, and psychological/emotional problems.
• Up to seven free counseling sessions for each incident to permit an employee or family member to identify problems and to receive referrals to the appropriate city health plan or community-based resources for treatment and/or counseling.
• Case monitoring and follow-up.
• Psychological evaluation services of employees at the request of management, including assessment, testing, evaluation, and the preparation of written summary reports.
• Resource and referral services for employees in need of childcare, eldercare, or other dependent care services.
• A telephone hotline staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, to receive crisis and non-crisis calls.
• Hours of operation accessible to employees who work regular work hours/shifts as well as odd hours/shifts.
• Development of promotional materials for dissemination to employees and their family members concerning the availability of employee assistance program (EAP) services.
• Management consultation services, including providing advice to supervisors who are dealing with employee work performance and/or behavior issues.
• As-needed coaching for managers and supervisors, and management/supervisory training and educational workshops regarding issues including, but not limited to, workplace violence, effective communication, and respect in the workplace.
• Monthly written management reports providing statistical data on program utilization and effectiveness.
• Conduct online employee exit interviews and provide quarterly reports.
• Items 1 through 9 are to be provided on an as-needed bilingual basis, particularly in Spanish, to employees and their family members who do not speak English.
