RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide a comprehensive security monitoring and fire detection system repair and services for city facilities.
- The ability to digitally access monitoring systems and customer service are factors that the city will consider.
- Work described, as being performed daily shall be performed Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise authorized.
- The city shall have digital, real-time, and on-line (via direct dial-up or the internet) access to monitor and to perform basic administrative duties (add/delete access codes, etc.).
- The city desires this access from a city computer and requires access privileges for 2 (two) city staff members.
- All security and fire system inspection findings will be submitted to the city upon completion of the inspection with all inadequate findings repaired immediately.
- All requests for service/repair to security/fire systems shall receive same day service unless otherwise approved by the city.
- Must understand the city’s telephone system and maintain service to the dedicated telephone lines while servicing the security and fire alarm system.
- Must be competent in the repair of and have knowledge of the city’s security and fire systems.
- Must be an authorized dealer of the security/fire systems the city currently has in place, including DMP, nuvico and hirsch.
- City can add authorized dealers at their discretion.
- All components of the fire alarm system must be installed to meet the specifications of the safety services department.
- Bi-annual maintenance, testing and reporting (2 times per year):
• Performed by qualified technicians for thorough inspections and servicing.
• Check for physical damage to components like sensors, cameras, and wiring.
• Inspect and clean areas prone to dust, moisture, or tampering that might compromise performance.
• Clean components such as cameras, sensors, keypads, etc. to remove dust or obstructions.
• Check and secure wiring/connections to avoid wear and tear.
• Recalibrate sensors to maintain accuracy.
• Replace defective/worn components/parts of the alarm system.
• Repair identified faults.
• Replace old, low or over 5-year-old batteries in sensors and backup power units at recommended intervals.
• Track battery life and ensure spare batteries are available.
• Software and firmware updates.
• Install updates to address security vulnerabilities and improve functionality.
• Ensure systems stay compatible with any connected devices or networks.
