RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide for consultants to support the development and implementation of a common course numbering system for its nine member institutions.
- Course numbering system that will standardize general education courses across the system; this effort will facilitate seamless credit transfer, reduce barriers for students, minimize credit loss, and ensure alignment of curriculum and learning outcomes across institutions.
- The selected consultant will lead this initiative by working closely with council stakeholders, along with staff members supporting the council and the commission, to develop a comprehensive, data-driven framework for common course numbering.
- Data collection template and instructions: A plan for identifying the 25 courses to include in the common core numbering system, to include strategies such as accessing enrollment and transfer data from the council or commission, and data gathering from institutions with standardized templates and clear instructions for their completion.
- Naming and Numbering Conventions: A recommended description of the naming and numbering conventions to be used for the common course numbering system and recommended numbers for each of the 25 courses to be included in the initial group of courses.
- Curriculum Inventory and Aligned Learning Outcomes: An inventory of curricula and associated documentation (such as syllabi) used for high enrollment and high transfer general studies courses and identification of aligned course learning outcomes to support consistent implementation across the system.
- Faculty engagement and workshop facilitation: A plan to engage faculty and adjacent stakeholders (e.g., curriculum leads, academic advisors) in aligning learning outcomes across identified courses and in developing a plan for implementation of the common course numbering system.
• The plan must include agendas, materials, and consultant facilitation of two in-person workshops for faculty and adjacent stakeholders with at least two on-site facilitators provided by the consultant.
• The council will coordinate meeting logistics and cover venue costs and allowable travel expenses for institutional representatives, while consultants are responsible for their own travel costs and those of any subcontracted facilitators.
