RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide fire extinguisher services for include:
- Qualification and licensing
• Contractor must have certification for portable fire extinguishers using a national organization like national association of fire equipment distributors.
• An associate degree in fire science, occupational safety and health or emergency and disaster management is preferred but not required.
• Contractor must be able to perform testing, inspections and evaluations in compliance with all applicable codes and guidelines under all local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• All information must be properly recorded, documented, and readily available to board to demonstrate compliance.
• Contractor’s technicians must be able to record services and inspections on fire extinguishers, provide written reports for each service with comments and recommendations based on the above testing, inspecting, and evaluating of all fire extinguishers districtwide.
• Within 48 hours of school visit the contractor’s technicians must record required services that is needed per fire extinguisher
• Contractor must provide annual fire extinguisher inspection districtwide
• Contractor to recharge extinguishers when authorized
• Contractor shall provide hydro testing when authorized - Expectations
• Provide a fixed cost for all necessary inspections, servicing and parts that may be needed to make functional or maintain all the fire extinguishers districtwide.
• Cost must include labor and no more than a 10% markup on materials.
• Contractor must keep active reports on service completed with fire extinguishers and be able to provide upon request
• Provide proper storage when transporting fire extinguishers to prevent damage.
• Contractor will be responsible for performing all industry standard tasks and duties related to servicing the fire extinguishers annually and as per requested due to potentially vandalism
• Contactor must understand any and all fire extinguisher equipment, different types of fire extinguishers.
• The contractor is expected to provide industry standard or higher quality services while maintaining a focus on providing a cost-effective service to the board.
• Provide the highest quality customer service to the board, not limited to installation but also including reliability and billing.
