RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide for fire alarm full-service fire system updates, suppression testing, inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Test all items to demonstrate correct operation within each fire zone. 
• Inspections, testing and calibrations shall be performed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the most recent national fire protection association standards (NFPA) and the state fire marshal: 
• Inspections of sprinklers, pipes and fittings, hangers and seismic braces, gauges, buildings, fire doors and closures and alarm devices shall be conducted for all quarterly and annual requirements as specified in NFPA 25 (latest edition). 
• The 5-year inspections shall include debris check in branch lines. 
• Testing of sprinklers, gauges and alarm devices shall be conducted for all quarterly, annual and multi-year requirements as specified in NFPA 25 (latest edition). 
• Perform backflow preventer test/inspection annually on all buildings. 
• Perform annual inspections of all fire hydrants on premises. 
• Complete annual smoke detector sensitivity reports. h. complete inspection of the commercial kitchen hood suppression system. 
• The contractor shall complete inspections and testing of all fire extinguishers, fire alarms and fire alarm panels at intervals set forth in the NFPA standards. 
• Inspection tags shall be located on each piece of equipment, affixed to either the valve or gauge. 
• Tags shall contain signatures and accurate inspection dates, and the information on the tags shall match the inspection reports. 
• To that end, the report worksheet is to be completed, and the tag is to be documented immediately following the inspection and prior to moving to the next inspection area. 
• The contractor shall provide a written report to the authority, per NFPA standards, following each inspection. 
• Inspection reports shall list exact location, system type, type of devices, items tested and response. the report shall include a list of all equipment failures or items nearing failure, repairs made, and action to be taken to make repairs. 
• All completed reports shall be received by the maintenance supervisor and jail administrator within three (3) working days.
