The vendor shall provide inspection services for 1,818 city utilities fire hydrants.
A list of hydrants with GIS map will be provided, showing GIS ID and address.
Submit weekly batches of hydrants with maps, scaled to crew size.
All inspections must be completed within 6 consecutive months from the project start date.
Work must occur during business hours: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (excluding city holidays).
Vendor must implement traffic control to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
Foot/Isolation Valve: Must be operated to verify isolation, left open, and fully documented (start/end position, success/failure of operation and isolation).
Hydrant Control Valve: Same operation and documentation as above.
Visual Inspection – Record:
• Damage (body, threads, stems) • Missing operator nuts/outlet caps • Blue reflector (present/absent)
• Paint issues • Leaks • Landscaping needs
Performance Testing:
Record pressure at 2 ½″ outlet using approved gauge.
Flow hydrant to ensure flow remains consistent.
Verify operation of 2 ½″ and 4″ outlet valves.
Include photo of each hydrant with GIS ID visible.
