The vendor required to provide on-site collection and destruction program for discarded confidential materials collection, including complete document and media devices and all necessary supplies, equipment and containers.
- All program material collection and destruction must be performed on-site.
- The program must ensure that documents and media devices which are deposited into the bidder’s secure containers are picked-up from each container and transported to the point of destruction by the vendor’s staff.
- Ensure that electronic storage media, such as CDs and DVDs, floppy or zip disks, and USB devices, deposited in the vendor-provided secure containers, remain secure and safeguarded for confidentiality from the time of pick-up until the material reaches the bidder’s plant and are destroyed by the bidder’s staff.
- Program capabilities:
• The proposed program must be capable of shredding the following materials:
o All forms of paper
o Computer disks
o CDs and DVDs
o USB devices
o Patient and employee id cards
o Audio visual tapes
o Other patient information-containing materials.
• Shredded waste must be recycled.
• Collect the discarded documents from secured containers at the designated locations and will inspect and clean all containers as part of the routine collection of confidential documents.
• Provide service on an as needed basis for “annual destruction” by departments throughout the facility, throughout the year.
