The vendor is required to provide to public relation consulting services to increase the city capability to provide timely and accurate information to the general public and members of the news media.
- They must possess strong leadership and communication skills with considerable knowledge of principles and techniques of public relations.
- Either directly or in a support role to the assistant city manager:
•Create standard procedures and processes for communication with the public.
•Identify training programs and opportunities regarding public relations and communication for city staff.
• Develop and distribute press releases, social media content, and website updates regarding City initiatives, public safety alerts, events, and other relevant information.
•Act as the city’s spokesperson during emergencies and public safety incidents, coordinating with the 911 center and emergency management as necessary
•Plan and implement public engagement strategies, community forums, and informational campaigns in response to community needs or events
- The consultant will help develop core strategies for public relations capable of being implemented by the assistant city manager with the support of the selected professional.
