The Vendor is required to provide professional consulting services to assist in conducting a diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant (DEI) evaluation as a foundation toward building a more equitable and inclusive organization for employees and the individuals we serve.
- Agency performs its healthcare and administrative functions in a manner inclusive and sensitive to various socio-cultural characteristics including, among other things, an individual’s race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, spoken language, gender, gender identity, age, and religious background or beliefs; particular attention should be given to agency knowledge and ability to provide healthcare services that are inclusive and sensitive to those of various socio-cultural characteristics; contractor shall include in the assessment a review of, among other things:
• Agency policies, procedures, protocols, and practices
• Agency organizational structure
• Community engagement initiatives and activities
• Level of knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles among agency board of directors and staff
- DEI Assessment:
- Contractor shall deliver a DEI assessment, which shall include (without limitation) a multidimensional quantitative and qualitative data analysis of agency practices and organization, and a review of all internal agency functions, including but not limited to policies, procedures, norms, workflows, facilities, and support; the DEI assessment must also accomplish (without limitation) each of the following:
• Articulate agency DEI strengths and weaknesses.
• Document perceptions of DEI principles within the agency.
• Gauge the expertise of clinical, medical, and administrative staff in addressing DEI issues.
• Outline clear opportunities to address inequities and disparities in the delivery of healthcare services based upon recipients' age, religious beliefs and practices, immigration or citizenship status, ability or disability, economic and/or employment status, gender or gender identity, national origin, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, and any other socio-cultural characteristics which could cause a healthcare recipient to be disproportionately impacted by agency organizational decision-making and operations.
- Contractor shall deliver a blueprint which also includes, without limitation, each of the following:
• Access: a plan for outreach to and services for non-English speaking members of the community.
• Education and Learning: a plan to make training resources available for all staff on culturally competent care.
• Multi-cultural and Inclusive Climate: a plan to create a welcoming and safe environment for all constituents to fully participate, succeed, and thrive.
