The Vendor is required to provide to procure localize translation management platform, a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS), that will be used to translate 98 websites across state agencies and essential documents, from a vendor that is an authorized reseller for localize.
- Localize can translate content on state agency websites and display that content in other languages via a language switcher.
- Localize enables translation and language delivery by embedding the customizable language switcher directly into agency websites.
- This software allows services and agency content managers to create, manage, and maintain multilingual digital content using both machine and human translation workflows.
- The platform will be used by:
• The office Translation Team to oversee and manage state agency websites that require centralized translation efforts,
• Individual state agencies representatives who manage their own websites
• Approved human translators engaged by agencies that opt for manual translation workflows.
- Core Platform Capabilities
• Create new website translation projects with support for:
o Automatic content capture
o Manual content upload (ex: files and documents).
• Specify one source language and multiple target languages per project.
• Launch and manage document/application translation workflows.
- Translation Management Features
• Exclude specific strings from translation using settings such as:
o Unpublishing, blocking, trashing, or project-based exclusions.
• Use variables or patterns to exclude multiple similar strings (Dynamic Phrase Manager).
• Exclude entire pages from translation by URL matching.
• Auto-translate and auto-publish new content using an “auto approve” label.
• Option to route new content to human translators for review and publishing.
• Change translation engine settings for:
o Individual target languages
o Multiple languages using a project-wide default setting.
• Utilize translation memory for consistency and to reduce redundant translation efforts.
• Display custom disclaimers within translated content.
- Analytics & Reporting
• Generate detailed usage reports including:
o Page views, visitor language preferences, word counts, translation engine usage, and (application program interface) API activity.
• Export reports in PDF or CSV formats.
• Create project-specific reports to support billing and performance analysis.
- Team & User Management
• Add single or multiple collaborators to translation projects.
• Assign one of two standard roles (Owner or Member) to each collaborator.
• Support role-based access controls, license seat management, and user group creation for security and administrative purposes.
