The vendor required to provide id card and locking system upgrade to enhance our campus security infrastructure.
- Access control cards
• The current access control cards use legacy magstripe technology.
• The separate id cards currently in use for the blue diamond readers specified in the requirements matrix (re7) will be discontinued post-upgrade.
• These cards should employ non-proprietary and open technology, using mi-fare des fire ev3 technology (cp-1).
• Post-implementation: university anticipates the phased replacement of magstripe cards with dual magstripe and NFC technology during the transition to near field communication (NFC).
- Card printing and production system
• The university is seeking a solution for its card printing and production system as specified in the requirements matrix, as part of an upgrade to its identification and security infrastructure.
• The chosen offeror must provide a system that leverages non-proprietary and open technology, specifically utilizing 3 technologies for the production of id cards.
• University retains complete control over encryption keys to avoid any proprietary limitations, ensuring a future-proof and adaptable system.
• The solution must also support mobile credentials compatible with both apple wallet and google wallet, with an anticipated 85% of users transitioning to mobile credentials.
• The offeror must be capable of printing the quantity of cards specified in the requirements matrix within the timeframe specified, utilizing existing and new user photos and information (cp-4).
• The cards must meet high standards for print clarity, color accuracy, and durability, and be capable of encoding both magstripe and NFC technologies.
• This package should include ongoing maintenance, servicing, replacement parts, and technical support, with the expectation of same-day on-site response to any printer-related issues.
• The card production system is cloud-hosted, reflecting a modern SaaS-based service delivery model.
- Card services platform
• The existing card services platform in use is epi suite, and a list of platform integrations can be found in the appendix.
• Responsible for proposing a software hub solution that is compatible with apple id and android, enabling credentials to be stored in the apple wallet.
• The contractor will also propose a solution that supports mobile credentials.
• The proposed solution must be compatible with university selected identity management solution.
• While university currently utilizes epi suite, we are open to exploring other solutions available in the market to identify the most suitable one.
• Accountable for providing senior software developers, a senior project manager, and any additional staff required to upgrade the existing six integrations to seamlessly function with the new solution.
